Thanksgiving Eve

It’s supposed to be 60 degrees in West Central Minnesota today.  This should be a terrific thing — an unusually warm day at the end of November — but it’s presenting a couple of problems in our house.

For one, when the ground thaws, it throws everyone’s allergies into a tizzy.  Add to this that Colin is actually sick-sick and there is just snot and Kleenex everywhere.  Do not fear, gentle Thanksgiving guests.  I am hosing down the house with Clorox and Lysol.  Germs don’t stand a chance.  Allergens . . . I don’t know what to do about those.

My second problem is the “Thanksgiving refrigerator.”  Normally I call it the porch, but this week it acts as my second refrigerator.  When we moved into this house and bought a refrigerator, I was sure I wanted a side by side model.  I was wrong.  Boy, how wrong I was.  You can’t get a 20 pound turkey in a side by side much less a pan of anything else.  It’s very handy to live in a cold climate and just set all that stuff outside.

Today the porch is lined with coolers.  It’s going to work fine.

I have so many things to be Thankful for today, don’t you?  When you stop to think about it and make a list, it gets to be a long one pretty quickly.

One of the things I am thankful for is you, reader-friend.  Some of you are my dear friends.  Some of you are my beloved family. Some of you are my silent and faithful readers across the country.  Thank you for reading and sharing my day to day activities.

Thank you for being crazy with me.
