It should be Writer’s Block Thursday (blah, blah, blah), but I went to a blog prompt blog. That’s right — a blog about what to write on your blog. Today’s topic was “What event in your life could have played out differently?”
That just sounds exhausting, doesn’t it? I feel like we need Cousin Josh to explain the implications of space-time continuum flux and revisionist history. Or maybe we need to watch “It’s a Wonderful Life.” Either way.
Of course, I wonder about the way some things could have gone differently, but these things rarely play out very well.
What if I’d actually found a career “outside the home?”
I think we can all agree that our home runs more smoothly for everyone because I am at home — the laundry gets done, the cookies get baked, the multitudinous forms* get filled out. Not every family needs someone at home. Not everyone can afford someone at home. This is just the way the cards play out for us.
What if we’d had more kids?
Good heavens. Aren’t 4.5 enough?
What if we lived in a more metro area?
Okay, I do struggle with this one. I would like to have a little more freedom to do the things a less rural area offers — but then Brent and I go out to lunch and the owner buys our lunch because she “JUST LOVES” us. I remember then we are where we are supposed to be, and I would not like it if I were not where I was supposed to be.
What if we had chosen a fall vacation away from Central Florida?
I don’t understand the question.
* Stay tuned for more on this.
