I am cheating and drinking my coffee before exercise. That’s right! Hear my rebel yell! Before exercise.
It is cross training day which means I do something other than run. Last week I rode my bike which was super fun until I discovered I’d run over a large nail/screw-type object and punctured my back tire. Today it is raining for the one millionth day (but not snowing!!), so I think I’ll take a walk on the treadmill and watch an episode of old Hawaii Five-O. I’m up to season two!
It looks a little soggy today, but as I suspected last week, I was the winner of marigolds on Mother’s Day. If you look closely you can see the hand raised marigolds in the front. The tall, blooming ones are church marigolds — perfectly lovely, but not crafted by hand.
The kindergarten had chicks in an incubator which hatched last week. That was pretty exciting. It had a countdown timer on it which was very accurate. Sure enough all the eggs hatched when the timer was done. The chicks moved to a large box with a heat lamp on the floor for a couple of days. Over the weekend they moved out to the farm. I suspect baby chicks go from being cute to not being cute in the blink of an eye. They were also very loud. CHEEP, CHEEP, CHEEP!!!
Tomorrow — if you can believe it — is kindergarten graduation. The kids will say what they want to be when they grow up and D is scheduled to say teacher. I asked him what kind and he said kindergarten. No doubt he will be adding more science which has been his great disappointment in kindergarten.
Of course, last week he was excited because he discovered that he could marry his love of detective work with his admiration for the police force and become a police detective.
Time will tell. So many possibilities.
